| Kerala weather tomorrow |
Tomorrow, Wednesday, May 21, 2025, Kerala is expected to experience heavy rainfall due to an upper air cyclonic circulation forming over the east-central Arabian Sea, off the Karnataka coast. This system is anticipated to bring widespread rain across the state from May 20 to May 23, affecting regions including Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh .
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued various weather alerts for different districts in Kerala:
-
Red Alert: Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod
-
Orange Alert: Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram
-
Yellow Alert: Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, and Idukki .
These alerts indicate the likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall, which may lead to localized flooding and disruptions.
Additionally, the IMD forecasts the onset of the southwest monsoon over Kerala around May 27, 2025, which is approximately four days earlier than the usual onset date of June 1 . This early arrival of the monsoon is expected to bring above-normal rainfall across India during the 2025 season
